When Bakersfield Police arrived on scene, they discovered that two vehicles were involved in a collision at the intersection due to reasons that are still being investigated. The vehicles were extensively damaged and debris blocked both northbound and southbound lanes of H Street for some time.

Paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene after the collision. One person was injured as a result of the accident and was seen receiving treatment at the scene. It is not known if they were taken to the hospital or not following the accident.

There were temporary traffic delays in the area until police cleared the scene.
