On Sunday evening, injuries were reported in a suspected DUI crash that took place on a major highway in Fresno. According to information provided by Your Central Valley, the collision happened on Highway 99 in the area of Olive Avenue on the evening of May 5, 2024.

When California Highway Patrol officials responded to the scene, they discovered that a sedan was traveling onto the highway from a ramp when they suddenly collided with a Tacoma pickup truck. Both vehicles sustained immense damage and debris was scattered all over the highway in the area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and other responders were present on scene. The driver of the sedan sustained serious injuries while the driver of the Tacoma suffered minor injuries. They were both taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Police said that the driver of the sedan has since been arrested for suspicion of driving DUI.

No further details have been released at this time. The investigation into the collision continues.
